Almond Bars

My husband got the recipe for these delicious bars from a co-workers wife, he tried them and told me I had to make them. They became a family favorite for us too. The almond paste gives them such a rich almond flavor that extract just can't do. You must try these deliciously dense almond bars! -Sarah

8 oz. almond paste
2 sticks butter, softened
2 eggs
2 cups sugar
2 cups flour

  • Break up almond paste with a mixer, add butter and beat until combined and smooth, beat in eggs and sugar. Add flour, and mix just till combined.
  • Spread into greased 9x13 pan. Bake at 300 degrees for 50-60 minutes. Cool and sprinkle with powdered sugar if desired.
