This recipe is from my Aunt Anita, she always made these for Christmas get together's. I will never forget the time that Kristin made them with WAY too much green food coloring! When you ate them your whole mouth turned green, it was hilarious! They still tasted good. -Sarah
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup butter
4 eggs, beaten
1 cup flour
1/2 t. salt
1 t. vanilla
16 oz. chocolate syrup
-Beat sugar and butter. Add vanilla, eggs and chocolate syrup.
Stir in dry ingredients. Bake in greased 9x13 pan for 30 minutes. Cool.
2-3 cups powdered sugar
1/2 cup butter
green food coloring
1/2 t. peppermint extract
1-2 T. water
-Beat all ingredients, adding enough water to make a firm frosting. Spread on cooled cake and chill.
-Melt 6 oz. chocolate chips with 6 T. butter. Cool slightly and spread over mint layer.
