Decorating Icing

This is my Aunt Marla's recipe. She has always been the cake decorator in the family, often making beautiful cakes for our get together's. Whenever I make a decorated cake or decorate cut out cookies I use this recipe. -Sarah

2 pounds powdered sugar
1 t. salt

Add 1 cup Crisco, slowly

Mix together:
9-10 T. water
2 t. vanilla extract
1 t. almond extract

Add liquids all at once to powdered sugar mixture, beat till spreading consistency. Adding more water if needed.

*If you don't want the almond flavor, then use all vanilla. Also, if you want a butter cream flavor then substitute butter flavored extract for the almond (Wilton sells this with the cake decorating supplies)
*You should also use a clear vanilla (also made by Wilton) if you want a completely white frosting.
