This is my Grandma's recipe for biscuits. They are so classic and so good! -Sarah
2 cups flour
2 t. sugar
4 t. baking powder
1/2 t. cream of tarter
1/2 t. salt
1/2 cup shortening
1 egg
2/3 cup milk
2 cups flour
2 t. sugar
4 t. baking powder
1/2 t. cream of tarter
1/2 t. salt
1/2 cup shortening
1 egg
2/3 cup milk
- Mix dry ingredients together. Cut in shortening. Add egg and milk. Mix lightly, just till combined.
- Pat dough out on floured counter and cut with biscuit cutter. (if I'm in a big hurry I'll just take a knife and cut the whole thing into squares)
- Bake at 425 degrees for about 7 minutes.
