Italian Chicken Soup

I first tried this soup at my Mom's years ago and loved it! I have made it for many quick warm lunches, everyone who has tried this healthy soup and liked it too. -Sarah

1 onion, chopped
4 cups chicken broth
1 1/2 cups chopped carrots
1/2 t. salt
1/4 t. basil
1/4 t. pepper
2 cups cubed, cooked chicken
1/2 cup orzo

Brown onion and carrots in oil. Add broth and seasonings. Bring to a boil, cover and simmer 15 minutes.
Add chicken and orzo. Cover and simmer 20 minutes or till orzo is cooked.
(might need to add more broth if soup gets too thick)
